Life at Home During COVID-19

This series of images you are about to see captures such a small snippet of the last month. Only about 2 hours worth of time were captured on a single day. The reason I chose to only capture 2 hours worth of time and not shoot over a longer time period is because these two hours represent the entire 5 weeks. What happened in these two hours is not that much different than what has happened over the last 840 hours we have been at home. The images are darker than I normally shoot, as I felt I needed to capture the mood of what it is like to be in a home for 5 weeks and not leave. There is loneliness, repetition, and so much uncertainty. But, you will see there is also laughter, color, innocence, love, and light even in a dark place. The warm tones evoke the feeling of love, safety, and protection no matter the circumstance.

These images are curated to show the real. Not the perfect, not the smiley, not the posed. The seriousness of little fingers creating. The screaming, the crying, the laughing... it's all here because this is real life.

I hope my kids can look back on these images one day and realize how protected they were in their warm cocoon with their mama during a time the world was overcome with fear, panic, and uncertainty.
